Brussels Tramways (STIB)

Brussels operates a large tramway network in the capital with modern low floor trams. The cap on display is from the 1960’s.

It opened in 1869 as a horse powered tramway and is now the 16th largest tram system in the world with 14o kilometers of track and carries about 150 million passengers each year. Brussels trams are operated by STIB/MIVB, the local public transport company.
