A month scholar’s ticket
The Scholar’s ticket was a monthly ticket for school students issued by the State Electricity Commission (SEC). These cost four shillings (40 cents) and were only available for students up to the age of 15 years. They could only be used when travelling directly to and from school. The tickets were printed for use on all three of the SEC tramways, Ballarat, Bendigo, and Geelong.
This particular ticket was never sold, and was stamped “CANCELLED” to prevent its use. It was donated to the Museum from someone with a relative in the SEC office.
