Graz, Austria, has a large and very modern tramway. The cap on display is from an earlier era.

Graz is the second largest city in Austria. The tramway opened in 1878 as a horse powered tramway. It now has a network of 60 kilometres and carries and more than 50 million passengers each year. It is operated by the Graz Linien, the city owned utility company who also operate the city’s bus network and the Schlossbergbahn funicular railway.

The Tramway Museum Graz, at the terminus of line 1 in Mariatrost, holds many exhibits relating to the system.
