The is a model of an SW6 Class Melbourne tram, No. 884. It is a commercial mass produced model made by Metal Earth, a company based in Seattle, Washington, USA. The model is usually available for purchase from our shop.

The SW6 is one of the W Class trams, the “S” noting that it had sliding doors. No. 884 entered service on 24 May 1947 and worked continually up until 2000. It and other similar trams were withdrawn from service because of braking problems. It was fitted with a new braking system and pantograph and re-entered service in Melbourne in 2007. It was finally withdrawn in July 2014 and put into storage.
